Privacy Policy

How we handle the personal information you give us through this website, by phone, by WhatsApp, and in the course of business.

Last updated · 14 June 2026

Draft noticeThis is a draft prepared as a starting point for the website rebuild. Double Dipper Paint Strippers should have this policy reviewed by a solicitor or qualified data-protection adviser before publication, especially if any third-party tools (analytics, marketing, payment processors) are added in future.

01

Who we are

This privacy policy is for Double Dipper Paint Strippers, a paint stripping & restoration workshop trading from Unit 3, Crossley Mills, Honley, Holmfirth, West Yorkshire HD9 6PL.

Double Dipper is a sub-brand of Oak & Pine by Design Ltd.

For the purposes of UK GDPR, we are the data controller of any personal data you provide. You can contact us at 01484 666 333 or info@doubledipperpaintstrippers.co.uk with any privacy-related questions.

02

What we collect

This is a brochure website with a phone-and-WhatsApp booking model. We do not run a contact form on the site, so the website itself does not collect or store personal data from visitors.

When you contact Daniel by phone, email or WhatsApp, the contents of that conversation (your name, contact details, what you're looking to strip) are held by us as needed to respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote.

When you place an order, we additionally collect the information needed to process and deliver it. Typically a delivery address and any specifications provided in support of the order (sketches, photographs, measurements).

We do not collect bank details directly. Where payment is required, it is arranged separately by invoice.

03

Why we collect it

We use the information you provide solely to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote and (if you go ahead) strip, restore, finish and return your piece.

We do not use enquiry data for marketing unless you have specifically asked us to, and we do not sell or share your data with any third party for marketing purposes.

04

Lawful basis

We process enquiry data on the basis of legitimate interest, namely responding to a request you have made. We process order data on the basis of contract, to fulfil the order you have placed. We process anonymised analytics data on the basis of legitimate interest, namely understanding and improving how the site performs.

05

Cookies & third parties

We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous, aggregated statistics about how the site is used, with IP anonymisation enabled. This helps us improve the site. We do not use it to personally identify you, and we do not run marketing or advertising pixels. See the Cookie Policy for the cookies this sets and how to opt out.

We use a Google Maps embed on the Contact page; that embed sets cookies from Google when displayed.

WhatsApp links open the WhatsApp app on your device. We do not see anything until you actively send Daniel a message.

06

Data retention

Enquiry data is retained for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry and any follow-up. Order data is retained for as long as is required to fulfil the order and to meet legal record-keeping obligations (typically 6 years for accounting purposes under UK law).

07

Sharing with third parties

We share order information with delivery couriers as necessary to dispatch goods to you. We use Google Analytics, which processes anonymised usage data on Google's infrastructure as our processor. Beyond this, we do not share your personal data with any third party unless required to do so by law.

08

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it if it is inaccurate, to ask for it to be erased (subject to our legal record-keeping obligations), and to object to or restrict our processing of it.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@doubledipperpaintstrippers.co.uk.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
