A Yorkshire workshop where master craftsman Daniel Fitzpatrick strips, dips and restores Victorian doors, antique furniture and cast-iron ironwork, and supplies the finishes to make them last another hundred years.
For ten years, Daniel Fitzpatrick has run Double Dipper from a corner of Crossley Mills, a Victorian textile mill in Honley where Yorkshire pine doors, cast-iron fireplaces and Edwardian banisters arrive each week in need of remembering what they once were.

In 2016, the workshop was accepted into The Guild of Master Craftsmen. That same year Daniel began stocking the wood finishes, waxes and primers we now sell to other restorers. One workshop, one craftsman, two sister workshops down the lane: Oak & Pine by Design for handmade kitchens, Spindles Wood Turning for staircase parts. The kettle is always on.

What we do
Three trades, one workshop bench.
From a single Victorian door to a fleet of Yorkshire pine, every wood piece arrives covered in lifetimes of paint and lacquer. We strip them back by hand or in the bath, neutralise, dry, and return them ready to receive their next finish. Sometimes nine layers deep.

Cast-iron fireplaces, Edwardian radiators, garden gates and four-poster bedsteads. Powder-coatings off, paint off, rust addressed. Returned bare or in any finish you specify, from waxed black to high-temperature enamel.
